NORTH PLAINFIELD'S FOURTH ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION PARADE, CONCERT, FIREWORKS

North Plainfield Police Chief William Parenti is pleased to announce the Department's third annual National Night Out celebration and Public Safety Vehicle expo. This year's event will take place Tuesday, August 2, 6:30 - 8:30pm in the municipal lot across from the Municipal Building at 263 Somerset Street, North Plainfield.

Chief Parenti stated the Police Department would open its door and conduct tours of Police Headquarters. There will be two tours, one at 7:00 pm and one at 8:00 pm.

This year the North Plainfield Fire Department and the North Plainfield Rescue Squad have also been invited to participate in the event's vehicle display. Handouts and pamphlets will be available on such timely topics as domestic violence, gang awareness, identity theft, block watch associations, and crime prevention.

All Borough residents are invited to attend, and meet with the Department's personnel. The North Plainfield Policeman's Benevolent Association (PBA) will be hosting a barbeque with free hot dogs, hamburgers, and soft drinks for all in attendance. "I am extremely pleased to witness the PBA, "our Officers," donating both their time, food and drinks in our community policing efforts."

National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watches. The event is expected to attract more then 30 million people nationwide. The idea of the program has evolved into fostering a partnership between local law enforcement and the communities they serve. By working in concert, crime can be reduced and the quality of life that a community enjoys improved.

Chief Parenti personally invites business owners residents and the media to come out and enjoy a first hand look at your Police Department.
