NPFD is taking applications for an entry exam for Firefighter/EMT
Anyone interested may stop by at the firehouse to take an application.
Minimum eligibility requirements for your application to be accepted and to take written examination:
  • Citizen of the United States
  • Callmen with the NPFD or a resident of Somerset County
  • Between 21 and under 35 years of age at time of hire (at least 19 to take test)
  • Able to read, write and speak the English Language well and intelligently
  • High School diploma or possess a High School Equivalency Certificate
  • Good moral character and have not been convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude
  • Current New Jersey certified EMT and AHA or Red Cross CPR Health Care Provide
  • Valid certification through the NJ Division of Fire Safety as Firefighter 1
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License
