Halloween 2005


Per Mayor Janice Allen, North Plainfield will officially celebrate Halloween on Monday, October 31 2005. Door-to-door trick or treating shall begin no earlier than 2:00 PM on this date and no later than 7:00 PM.


The ninth annual Haunting of Vermeule will take place at the Vermeule Mansion and Community Center (located on the corner of Greenbrook Rd. and Clinton Ave.) on October 28th and 29th. This year's event features THE MAZE beneath the Community Center, Halloween Treats, and Haunted House. WEAR YOUR COSTUME AT THE HIDDIE HAUNTING AND BE PART OF THE FUN!

Haunting Hours (rain or shine) are 7:30-10:30PM Friday the 28th and 7:00-10:00PM Saturday the 29th. Kiddie Haunting will take place 1:00-4:00PM on Saturday the 29th (designed for young children and their parents). Admission prices are as follows: 4 Years & under - $3.00 ; 5 to 12 years - $5.00 ; 13 to 18 years - $6.00 ; Adults - $7.00. Wear your Vermeule Halloween T-Shirt and receive $1.00 off Admission. Price break for parents attending Kiddie Haunting & Night Haunting.

The North Plainfield Halloween Parade will occur Sunday, October 23rd at 1:30PM. Pre-schoolers to 5th graders - meet at the Stoney Brook School on Grove Street. The parade route will continue down Grove Street to Greenbrook Road to Wilson Avenue and ending at the High School Gym. Judges will select winners during the parade route. Winners in each of the following categories will receive Trophies: Prettiest, Scariest, Most Original, Group, and Funniest! ALL children will receive a pumpkin and USA Flag!

Parents are urged to be on time and park in the High Shool parking lot. Please do NOT park on Grove Street. In case of rain, younsters in costume should meet at 1:30PM in the High School Gym on Sunday, October 23rd. This event is sponsered by North Plainfield Recreation.
