Tee Ball Baseball & Softball Registration

Grades 3rd - 8th Baseball/Softball, Cost $40

Youth Fishing Derby - Cost:  Free

The Recreation Commission hosts the annual spring fishing derby at Green Acres park.  All North Plainfield children ages 7-13 are eligible to participate.  Information on this annual event is available in February. 

Track & Field - Cost:  Free

This is a one day event held in the morning of the first Saturday in June.  Children ages 6 through 14 can participate in one or all activities which include 50 meter dash, 100 M, Mile Relay, Long Jump, and Shot Put.  Registration required before events start. 

Summer Tennis Clinic - Cost: $30

Late June to mid-July at East End school tennis courts

Grades 1st -

Summer Playgrounds - Cost: $25

The Recreation Commission sponsors a outdoor summer playground program at E. End school, W. End school, and Vermuele playgrounds, which runs from late June to mid-August.  The program is open to all N. Plainfield children age 5 through 14 and is held weekdays from 9:00am until 12:00 and 1:00 to 2:30 pm. There are a variety of activities including arts and crafts, board games, dodgeball, and soccer.  There will be weekly themes and a few field trips.

Soccer - Grades 1 to 8 - every Saturday

Archery - Grades 3 to 8 - every Wednesday evening

Tennis - Grades 3 to 8 - every Saturday after 12:00 noon

Halloween Parade - Cost: Free
  • Pre-K to 5th Grade
  • Grove St. to North Plainfield High School Gym
  • Rain or shine
  • N. Plainfield children meet at Stoneybrook school and march over to N.P.H.S. where the parade continues.  Awards are given for the most scariest, prettiest, creative, and best group costume.
